Evans Motor Fuels and Evans Expressmart stores, both divisions of Evans Group, Inc. of Lebanon, have announced that they have completed the integration of biodiesel into their product offering. Both the Evans Expressmart store at 44 Exeter St. in Newmarket and the Evans Exit 16 Truckstop on Interstate 89 in Enfield have retail biodiesel available at the pump for diesel cars and trucks. Additionally, Evans Motor Fuels has all blends of biodiesel available for wholesale delivery from their bulk plant at Exit 16 on Interstate 89 in Enfield.

Biodiesel is a domestic, renewable fuel for diesel engines derived from natural oils like soybean oil, and which meets the specifications of ASTM D 6751. Biodiesel can be used in any concentration with petroleum based diesel fuel in existing diesel engines with little or no modification, and can be used as a blend with home heating fuel. Biodiesel is not the same thing as raw vegetable oil, but is produced by a chemical process which removes the glycerin from the oil. Biodiesel contains no sulfur or aromatics and the use of biodiesel in a conventional diesel engine results in substantial reduction of unburned hydrocarbons, carbon monoxide, and particulate matter. According to Dan Evans, VP of Marketing, “We’re excited to add biofuels to the list of motor fuel products that we currently offer, and it’s a good fit with our existing business model. In addition to being a domestically-produced, renewable resource, biofuels display excellent lubricity characteristics when combined with existing low sulfur diesel products”.
